Bookmarks

Internet bookmarks are stored web page locations that can be retrieved. All browsers offer the ability to bookmark but this is very limited as you can only access these from the computer on which you have bookmarked. The ideal way to bookmark is to use an online service like the ones listed below. Through these online social networks you can access your bookmarks from any device connected to the internet and you can also share these with other people.

If I have only one advice to give about bookmarks, it's the following: if you find a site or a page that you like ... bookmark it. Don't chance it, the web is huge and constantly evolving. You will save time by storing this bookmark even in a temporary category, if you don't like it anymore; just delete it. Which bring me to the topic of organizing bookmarks. These can quickly get out of control unless you categorize these with meaningful tags. This is your opportunity to organize the web according to your frame of mind. Try it.

del.icio.us is a social bookmarking website -- the primary use of del.icio.us is to store your bookmarks online, which allows you to access the same bookmarks from any computer and add bookmarks from anywhere, too. On del.icio.us, you can use tags to organize and remember your bookmarks, which is a much more flexible system than folders.

Below are my personal bookmarks on del.icio.us. Look how well organized they are :)
